New Review for Kisses for Tati!

Last weekend, I was quite pleasantly surprised to find that my good friend, p.r. maven Angela Hadl, had taken my novelette Kisses for Tati to the beach to read. She posted a photo to Instagram, then left the glowing review below.

For those of you who haven’t read Kisses for Tati, it remains both my most polarizing work (people either really love it or really hate it) as well as my most popular work (it’s by far the best-selling book I’ve released).

Get your copy now — $5.99 for the paperback and only 99¢ for Kindle and NOOK versions.

Former Barnes & Noble Flagship Closed — Forever!

Former Barnes & Noble Flagship Closed — Forever!

Along with yesterday’s news that everyone’s favorite Gray’s Papaya in Greenwich Village was shuttered came word that Barnes and Noble‘s former flagship location on Fifth Avenue has also permanently closed.

According to Gothamist, the store’s answering machine message states that the location “is permanently closed” and directs callers to the Union Square store.

Things have not been going well for the lit retailer lately; the company’s holiday sales were down 6.6% from the same period last year, and most of the losses were due to store closures. Furthermore, their NOOK digital devices have been sorely underperforming.

Though I’d only been to this location a few times, I found it to be an awesome store, with a great selection of book and a charming feel to it.

The times, they are a-changin’ …

“Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t.” – Jay-Z, “Reminder”

This morning, I checked the sales stats for my two books GUESTLIST and KISSES FOR TATI. You know, just to see how well they were doing.

Well, according to Amazon, the sales rank for KISSES FOR TATI was 280,613; GUESTLIST, which was released back in March, is at 331,939.

Now, some of you may be saying, “That’s not impressive. It ain’t like you hit number one or nothin’.” But I’m a tell you like this, Dear Readers: those rankings are impressive as hell.

First, you must take into account that my books are going up against over EIGHT MILLION other books in Amazon’s database. To be included in the Top 300,000 out of 8,000,000 is fucking extraordinary.

Second, understand that I am practically doing all of this BY MYSELF. I must reiterate this, it’s not like I had a true mentor or helping hand. I had no co-signs prior to publishing any of these books. No hook-ups, no one taking a chance on the kid. I did this all by myself. Plus, the staff of Be Cool Books is exceedingly small.

So I look at these sales rankings with no small measure of pride. I’m making it happen.

Have you read my books yet? If not, what are you waiting on? KISSES FOR TATI already has a 4.5 rating on Goodreads, and GUESTLIST has 4.7 on Amazon.

Plus, there are some exciting things happening with Be Cool Books. I can’t wait to share the news with you all. Thanks to all of you for your support. Happy reading! Cheers!

Can I be for real with y’all? I don’t know anyone who uses a Kobo eReader. But hey, that doesn’t mean I don’t want my Kobo homies to miss the party! And so, my debut novel GUESTLIST is also finally available for Kobo. Just like its Kindle and Nook counterparts, it’s only $2.99.

For those waiting on iPad and Sony Reader versions, keep calm and don’t worry. They are coming soon.

That’s all. Head on over to Kobo and get GUESTLIST for Kobo today!

Well, at least some of you will be happy.

My debut novel GUESTLIST is finally available for Kindle and it’s only $2.99. Looka here, I know today is pay day, so for those of you who have been holding out no longer have an excuse.

That is, of course, unless you have an iPad, Nook, Sony Reader or Kobo. And I’m sorry, but if you do have one of those devices, the wait will be just a bit longer.

That’s all. Head on over to Amazon and get GUESTLIST for Kindle today!

If you’re one of those eagerly anticipating reading my debut novel GUESTLIST on your eReader come March 27, I have some not so good news — looks like the party’s being postponed a couple weeks.

Due to unfortunate mishaps and cock-ups beyond my control, eBook versions of GUESTLIST will not be released until mid-April. Around, you will be able to acquire GUESTLIST for your iPad, Kindle, or Nook at all online retailers, including Amazon, iTunes, Barnes & Noble, and something called eBookPie.

If you don’t want to wait (and, really, I can’t blame you if you don’t), paperback versions will definitely be available beginning March 27th.

Hit the Store link above to pre-order your autographed copy of GUESTLIST, and use coupon code BECOOL to get 20% off your order.

And, no, Jonathan Franzen had nothing to do with this. Ha!

My debut novel GUESTLIST is coming out on March 27th. But then again, you already knew this.

I know you’re excited and can’t wait to read it. Hell, I’m excited for you. Though I’ve already given you a small peek into the world inhabited by Juliet, Swann, Ava, Sharane, Mare, and Napoleon Fey, I know that you’re hankerin’ for more.

Here’s another passage from the point of view of Juliet, the novel’s main character. Check it out below.

Juliet was struck with that feeling again, the feeling someone was watching her. This was getting tiresome. Not bothering to mask her frustration, Juliet glanced over.

She didn’t lock eyes with the model bitch, however. It was just some random dude. Juliet appraised him quickly, noting his baby face. He wasn’t what she’d consider fine, but he was cute. In good shape. Well-groomed. Handsome.

The dude was leaning on the bar, a couple of rubber bands on his wrist. When their eyes met, he smiled at her. It was a kind, sincere smile. Juliet couldn’t help herself. She returned the smile. The moment she did, though, she knew he was going to try to talk to her. And for as cute and cool as he seemed, Juliet was not interested in this guy. She wanted to see Napoleon—and he wasn’t anywhere to be found.

Hmm … looks like someone is sweating Juliet kinda hard! But if it’s not Napoleon, who could it be? There’s really only one way to find out who it is—you’ll have to read the book!

GUESTLIST drops on Tuesday, March 27, and will be available in paperback and for Kindle, Nook, and iPad.
